First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who has reached out, checked in on us, prayed for us, and offered support during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness has meant more to us than words can express. Many people have asked how they can help. Accepting help has never been easy for us, and we had to set our pride aside and accept the generosity being offered. For those who have asked, we have included a link with ways to support us as we work through the challenges ahead. In addition to being displaced from our home, we suffered the heartbreaking loss of a very important member of our family. Our beloved cat, Peanut, passed away due to smoke inhalation. Firefighters found him and gently brought him out to us. Our hearts are broken. Many of you know Peanut’s story. After my mom passed away, he became a source of comfort for my dad and me. We bottle-fed him as a kitten and cared for him throughout his life. He gave us purpose, companionship, and unconditional love during some of our darkest days. I truly believe God sends angels into our lives, and Peanut was one of ours. By God’s grace, our other cat, Pumpkin, survived. He had hidden under a bed during the fire, but he needed immediate veterinary care that same evening due to smoke exposure. Anyone who has pets knows that emergency veterinary care can be costly, but we did everything we could to ensure Pumpkin received the treatment he needed. The past few weeks have been overwhelming as we try to process everything that has happened. Between navigating insurance, finding temporary housing, caring for Pumpkin, and sorting through what remains of our home, there have been many moving parts. Some days, we’re so exhausted that dinner is simply a quick drive-thru meal before tackling the next task. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we navigate the road ahead. We are grateful for every prayer, every message, every share, and every act of kindness. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Ryan & Michele 🙏 Prayers go up, blessings come down.
