Good Day everyone, I started this for my son Iziah. Here is his story. November of 2022 he failed a school vision test. We got him an appt December 2022 at Nation Wide vision, to find out he had no peripheral vision and had to see a pediatric eye specialist. The soonest appt they had was June 01, 2023.. which I took instantly. On June 01, 2023 they verified he had no peripheral vision. June 2nd we had to go back and do a visual field test, to find out he has already lost half his vision in both eyes. June 3rd we were sent for a stat MRI. Straight from there they sent us to the hospital. We were told he had a rare brain tumor and needed brain surgery asap. June 5, 2023 he had a craniotomy to remove the brain tumor. I had no time to process anything. We were in the hospital for 10 days. It has been a journey for sure. Some of his vision has came back. He went from getting MRIs every 3 months, to every 6 months. If his MRI came back like all the others, we would be moved to MRIs once a year. June 5, 2025 we found out his brain tumor has returned. I cried, I broke down. I have a limited income and struggle as is. I have him and his little sister Mikaylah, who has down syndrome, and extra sassy. She worries about Iziah like we all do. We met with Mayo Clinic in Phoenix on August 4th. He will start Proton radiation to shrink the tumor. We have his mask fitting August 11, 2025. We will have to drive to Phoenix Monday thru Friday daily for 6 weeks. It is 40 miles one way. Its hard to work during this time and would love help with food/necessities/fuel... most importantly food for my kids. I have their older siblings going to take turns helping with our dogs and his little sister. He is scheduled to start his radiation the week of August 25th. I will be out of the house 3hrs of the day just for him. Mikaylah is a picky eater and loves, nuggets, fries, cheese pizza, cheeze its, apple sauce, pop tarts and peach juice and water. Iziah isn't too picky, anything helps. We go thru milk like crazy though. We do plan on school daily, he'll probably only do half days during his treatment. Thanks for reading.
I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to read, and willing to help us out. He does have adrenal insufficiency, diabetes insipidus, and hypopituitarism, due to this tumor. He will be on meds for life. Dinner is needed Monday thru Friday once it starts the 25th, I did not know how to keep off weekends.
