In early February, Sarah was diagnosed with cancer in the breast and lymph nodes. We had the first oncology appointment on Ash Wednesday, which is coincidentally the day we had our first date 14 years ago. That Lenten day began our journey together, and we are convinced that this will be a journey that brings us even closer together. Though the next 18 months will be a uniquely long Lent! Many of you have asked how you can best support us, and the truth is that keeping our family rhythm steady is the greatest gift you can give. With Sarah starting a rigorous treatment schedule, there will be days when her energy is low and Andy is on full-time duty with the kids. We are using this page to coordinate specific needs that help us bridge the gap—things like play dates, occasional childcare for appointments, and keeping the kitchen stocked. A meal delivery or a grocery drop-off means one less 'to-do' on a heavy day, and it helps us ensure that Eva, Oscar, and Ira feel supported and cared for throughout this journey. Ways You Can Help: - Homemade or delivered meals for the family. - Babysitting during Sarah's medical appointments when Andy needs to be present. - General assistance with kids when Sarah is experiencing fatigue from treatment or Andy needs a break. - Invitations to play dates or special outings for the kids to bring some joy during a challenging time - Gift cards like Doordash or Uber Eats for takeout dinners on busy nights. - A bit of house tidying
