From Denise on 5/24/26: So now that we have some answers & I have wrapped my head another the situation. Some people know that in April on Easter we found out that Brandon has a liver disease and his liver was starting to fail. He spent several days in the hospital. Over the several weeks after being discharged he continued to get better- I of course begged him along with friends & family begged him to go back to the hospital.... he said he would he just needed more time. Fast forward to this past Wednesday Brandon took Kenneth to school & upon leaving & getting to the car Brandon fell. We called the squad & once I got there I made the decision for him that it was time to go back to hospital no choices!! While at Roanoke Memorial they ran numerous test along with lots of waiting they finally told us Brandon's liver was failing more, kidneys are failing & that he is very sick..... they choose to transfer him to UVA! We get to UVA & they put him in the transplant unit. Since Wednesday night they have been evaluating him- many questions, many talks, many test & labs to find out if he is a candidate for a liver transplant. Yesterday evening the whole transplant team met & they then met with myself & Brandon to tell us that Brandon is a candidate & we signed the paperwork yesterday evening..... Brandon is officially on the transplant list. They didn't get our hopes up that it would happen right now but they did tell is he will not be coming home until the transplant but it could be days or weeks for a donor liver! We are both very scared but very thankful & grateful that God is on our side!!!! I will try to keep updated & I will try my best to answer calls, texts & messages. Please just continue to pray for us as well as the doctors & surgeons!!!
