Story
As some of you may know, it’s been a long road but we finally have a diagnosis! After several years of being treated for chronic migraines, Kristen was diagnosed with atypical trigeminal neuralgia (a progressive cranial nerve syndrome causing severe pain along her trigeminal nerve) affecting the right side of her head and face. She’s been so strong over the years but beneath the surface, it has been a daily struggle for her. But we have hope. She will be undergoing Microvascular Decompression (MVD) brain surgery which will hopefully alleviate the pressure on her trigeminal nerve and help her be free of her nerve pain. The surgery is scheduled for Thursday, June 12th at UCI followed by a 2-4 night stay in the Neuro-ICU for observation: While we are nervous for the surgery and recovery, we know that God is 100% in control and will carry us through this season. Kristen won’t be able be able to pick up their son Campbell for 8 weeks and will need a lot of rest. Chris will be able to take a leave of absence to be home with her and Campbell. Kristen’s sister Renee will be coming from Utah to stay the first week to help (she rocks and we are absolutely grateful). If you are willing and able, Chris, Kristen and Campbell would be very grateful to receive restaurant gift cards (due to Chris allergies it will be easier on our family) and/or financial support to assist with out-of-pocket medical expenses related to her hospitalization. Most importantly, our family would appreciate that you cover us in prayer. Thank you all for being such a good support system! We love you all 😊
Special Notes
Chris will need some time to himself to get some rest as he will be carrying our family for a few months, please consider helping with your time to give him a break and/or even social time.
