Team Up for Teddy

Story

Our world changed when our 3-year-old son, Teddy, was diagnosed with JMML, an extremely rare form of leukemia. The news is devastating, and since then, our family has been focused on doing everything we can to support Teddy through his treatment. This diagnosis means we will be spending a lot of time away from work, commuting back and forth from the hospital and our family will be split up during his treatment as his two sisters have to stay home which adds an emotional and financial strain to an already incredibly difficult situation. After the initial 4-5 month stay in the hospital, Teddy will be receiving ongoing maintenance chemotherapy for 12 months post transplant. This will leave him immunocompromised, which means he will no longer be able to attend the free GSRP program we had him enrolled in for the fall. We also cannot put him in a traditional daycare setting and now we will have to seek in home care which comes at a steep cost. We are doing our best to take things day by day, but the costs and uncertainty are overwhelming at times. We are so thankful for everyone offering their love and support as we try to navigate this journey. If you would like to sign up for the meal train, that is another way to help our family and provide us with one less thing to worry about. If you cannot donate or provide a meal, we completely understand and appreciate any thoughts and prayers for our family.
