Love for Dorothy

Pocono Pines, PA

Story

Last year my mom, Dorothy Newman, battled stage 3 Gynecological Cancer and successfully beat at the end of 2024. At that time, she went through two surgeries, chemo and radiation. Her check ups had been clear until July 2025 when we learned not only was the cancer back but it is in multiple spots including her lungs, kidneys, and lymph nodes. It is now considered terminal, stage 4 Cancer. She started chemo last month and they will be adding immunotherapy during the next session to try and fight this disease even harder. During her first battle with Cancer, her coworkers at the Pocono Mountain School district signed up for meal deliveries to help support her in this time of need and she LOVED it! She talked about it constantly (even to this day) and was SO grateful for the extra help, love and support, as was the entire family. I was hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Pocono Mountain staff by creating this meal train to hopefully offer some relief to my parents around her set chemo and immunotherapy sessions that are every 3 weeks. We appreciate all the prayers and generosity that everyone in her tribe has been providing and will never be able to thank everyone enough for the support.
