Shelter for 22 yo homeless son with severe mental illness

Story

Help a Homeless Young Adult With Food and Temporary Shelter for bad weather I’m a mother trying to help my 22-year-old son who is experiencing homelessness and serious mental health challenges. We have applied for Social Security disability benefits and are currently on waiting lists for emergency housing. Unfortunately, he remains without stable shelter while we wait. He lives in a tent in the woods and the hurricane destroyed it. I recently became significantly ill and am unable to care for him. I’m not asking for cash to be sent to him. Instead, I’m organizing a gift-card wishlist for groceries, meals, temporary motel accommodations for severe weather and basic necessities. I will personally manage the donations and ensure they’re used for his essential needs on an emergency basis. He stops by social services weekly to see about housing but he is pretty far down on the waiting list. For his safety and privacy, we are keeping our identities confidential. Even a small grocery or meal gift card could make a difference. Thank you for considering helping him. We want him back on his feet, healthy, working and contributing to society.
