Talent and Phoenix are two of the Oregon communities that were nearly completely destroyed in the ongoing northwest wildfires. This page has been set up as a way to quickly distribute digital gift cards to residents to be used for shelter, food, healthcare and supplies. These gift cards will go directly to Talent and Phoenix residents for distribution in the community. It is reported that over 2,350 structures were lost in the Almeda Fire which started on September 8th. In the Talent-Phoenix area, at least 7 mobile home parks were destroyed and many of these low-income families had little to no home insurance, and now they find themselves without shelter, food, clothes or cars. We were lucky enough to have Blue enrolled in Headstart preschool prior to the Covid quarantine. Many of her classmates lived in mobile homes that were decimated by the fires. We would like to give back to this group so donations will be given to Headstart/Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) for the typically under-served children of low-income and migrant families in the Talent and Phoenix areas.
$350 in gift certificates were delivered in person to the school on September 15th. $450 in gift certificates were delivered to the school on September 18th. $500 in gift certificates were delivered to the school on September 30th. This page has been verified by Give InKind.
