Baby Harper Rae Haney

Midlothian, TX

Story

Harper Rae Haney 💕 02/06/2026 - 9:04PM 1lbs 14 ounces. 12.5 inches long. 25 weeks 3 days. Our princess. Friday was another one of the hardest days of our lives. While at the hospital for a different reason, I suffered a uterine rupture. And Harper was born via emergency c section. The type where they pour a bottle of betadine on your stomach, shove a tube down your throat, and start cutting as soon as they can. The doctor found Harper in my abdomen inside her amniotic sac, but not in my uterus. For whatever reason, my uterus ruptured and nearly killed both of us. Multiple doctors told me after the fact that if i was not at the hospital when this happened, we both would have certainly died. I lost over two liters of blood, and got a mass transfusion of blood products not even matched to my blood type. And Harper was whisked away and very quickly sent to Cook Children’s in Fort Worth. The hospital we were at is not equipped to deliver babies less than 35 weeks. Harper’s journey will likely look very different than Hudsons did due to the type of injury and delivery she experienced. But we will take it one step at a time We are all fighting and battling. Emotionally, mentally, physically. From almost losing our lives to now being forced to go through the highs and lows of the NICU again while we really weren’t ready to do so. 💕 We ask for prayers for healing and comfort. Both for Harper and I, but also for my entire family that has endured this, and will continue to do so with us. Thank you to all of those that have stepped up during the last couple of days, drove for hours to get where we needed , and said prayers for us. And a special thank you to our guardian angels, and the ones we know God sent our way when we needed you the most. 💕
