Team Claire Bear

Story

Hello teammates! On Friday, November 7, 2025, Kelly took our daughter Claire (w/ guidance from our Pediatrician) to the ER for a cough she had for over a month. We were then advised to transfer her to UPMC Children's Hospital for further testing. At about 12:30am we were informed that Claire had a mass behind her sternum and fluid that has basically collapsed her left lung. We were also informed that this mass is usually a cancer diagnosis of some sort. We found out Wednesday 11/12 that Claire has been diagnosed with a super treatable form Leukemia with a very good prognosis. We have been told many times that we are in a marathon not a sprint, so her recovery will take some time. We have laced up our shoes and are ready. Many of you have asked what you can do to help us during this time. First, we want to thank you for all of the prayers and kind words and messages you sent us these past couple days. What we would ask is that when we post prayer requests, that you join Us in praying specifically for needs when they arise. That definitely will be the best thing for Claire. Second, welcome to Team Claire Bear page. Here at the site you can meet any needs that we may need, you can donate to our fund to help with any medical needs that may arise cost wise. You may also send gift cards through this platform to help with needs that we may encounter (food, gas, etc) as we are still currently going back and forth to and from the hospital. Lastly, if there's something that you would like to do to help us out that we haven't mentioned or you still want to find out if there's other ways you can help, you can always message us on this site and we can let you know in a private message what we may need specifically. We know our team is big, we know our God is big, and we are confident that that He will show up the way He always does. Cancer sucks, but our God is bigger! With gratitude & love, Doug, Kelly, Claire & Emilee

Special Notes

Please do not send live flowers to the house. Claire will be coming home with a PICC line and the hospital advises plants that can grow mold, spores or anything. So it's best to stay away from plants and dirt all together.
