Hi Friends and Family, Claire was diagnosed with Miserable Malignment Syndrome in the summer of 2025. Yes, that is the real name. To treat this condition, she will potentially need several orthopedic surgeries. On March 25th, she had the first surgery - a tibial osteotomy (basically, they surgically broke her tibia, rotated it into the proper position, and put a metal rod in her leg). The recovery is going well, and Claire is able to move around with a full boot and crutches. She can bear weight as tolerable. The biggest challenge is that she is unable to lift or carry her sweet girl. She will have round 2 (the other tibia) sometime in June or July and have to repeat this whole process. Oh my!
