Alivia was taking her senior 5lb chihuahua, Annie, for a walk when a known reactive bulldog on a long, retractable leash with an irresponsible owner, charged at Annie, putting her life at risk. Alivia immediately stepped into action, trying to pick up Annie away from the bulldog but with it just having rained, the grass was wet and muddy, and Alivia fell on her elbow, resulting in 5 fractures, a torn lateral ligament, and a torn tricep tendon. Alivia, in shock and in pain, laid there, while the owner collected their dog and fled the scene, not even helping her. Thankfully, Annie is okay but Alivia, unfortunately, is not. She is now facing emergency surgery that will cost thousands of dollars and we, Alivia’s community, need to make sure that she is taken care of during this time.
