Hey All! (Please note, I posted a dinner request every night for the two week stay of my mom, but I’m not actually expecting people to do something every night! I am just putting the all the possible options for help there.) This upcoming hip surgery was unexpected and planned very suddenly. It doesn’t help that it came straight after my husband’s 3 full week furlough from work; then we got the added information that I’ll have to figure out a way to pay for medical equipment, copays for physical therapy and co pays for home health care. The recovery will be 6-8 weeks, and a little grueling since I heal slower than most due to my lupus. The first two weeks will be the roughest. My mom is coming down and spending a couple of weeks with me, but she’s recovering from a major shoulder injury/surgery herself and is still struggling with her own daily pain. I’m touched to the bottom of my heart that she is putting her life on hold and coming to help, even while still hurting so badly. It’s such a selfless and loving gesture. It’s hard for me to ask for help, but I know specifically this will help HER as well. She can rest a little more in-between helping me AND not worry about getting food on the table every night. To everyone to helps, even by just sharing…thank you so very, very much. The love and support shown during this time, before surgery has even happened, has been so incredible. I’ll never forget it, and I’ll pay it forward any chance I get.
