Support for my retired veteran brother in law

W
Story

Hello. My name is Richina. My brother in law is not aware I set this page up. He's too proud. Just to fill you in a little bit. He is a veteran and has worked his whole life. He just retired from 40 years at a steel mill when he was almost 78 years old. He lives off of SS once a month and it's barely enough to pay his bills. I'm his Care taker and he is starting to show early signs of Parkinson's. Therefore I'm doing his bills and taking him to doctors and his cardiologist and so on. It breaks my heart that he runs short every month and some days barely has any thing to eat. I'm looking into a lot of different resources but honestly not a lot of luck. I have gotten some bills dropped and one great resource helped with utilities. I'm trying to help him but because he doesn't have Medicaid I can't get compensation for nursing and because he needs to be watched ( he fell the other day walking in with me to the Dept of Aging) because he is very unsteady on his feet I can't really leave him to get job. I'm all he has. My sister that was married to him past away about 10 years ago and on her death bed asked me to be there for him because she didn't want him to die alone. And I have and always will be there for him because both him and my sister mean the world to me. He's been in the family since I was 15 years old and he is a great person. I pray every day that he doesn't have to be rich I just want him to be comfortable. He deserves to be able to eat when he is hungry and his bills paid on time and I'm going to keep fighting until he gets the retirement he deserves.
