It's been a while...let’s catch you up - While walking down the gorge of Watkins Glen in the summer of 2024, Cheryl twisted her ankle which led to torn ligaments in her left ankle. Months of laser therapy, PT and injections while wearing ankle braces and that lovely red-bottomed boot has led to the decision that surgery is needed to ultimately repair the damage. Upon further examination it was discovered that BOTH ankles have severe genetic "ligamentous laxity" aka - my ligaments in my feet suck and are so stretched out and require surgery to fix. There are multiple minor old fractures and sprains I’ve accumulated over the years that need to be addressed as the loose ligaments are a big source of the problem. First surgery was successful on Feb. 14, 2025. The recovery was pure hell with extensive nerve pain that no pain med would touch. We have waited as long as possible to allow the nerves time to heal and now it's time to repair the other ankle (and get it in on the same health insurance deductible). On Nov 19th I had a minor surgery to reduce inflammation on my right ankle. It was to remove the inflammation on my plantar fascia and inject a growth hormone to promote healing and prepare for the big surgery to repair torn ligaments. On December 12th I had the big surgery on my right ankle to repair a torn ligament and secure the ligaments that are stretched and not working. Recovery will be hard as I will be non weight bearing for a few weeks. I'll be sharing recovery's ups and downs and our needs in the "updates" section. Thanks for supporting us during this challenging season. We love and appreciate you!
Hi! Thanks again for engaging with our page.I know life is extra busy this time of year so we are extremely grateful for you and the help and support you provide. Whether that be through a meal, washing Cheryl's hair, buying a gift card, visiting, sending a card or praying - we are so thankful for you! If bringing a meal, we usually eat between 5-6pm but it can be dropped off anytime and we can always reheat it. As a treat, we love Pizza Boys (if you're local and haven't tried their burrata crushed tomato Sicilian you're missing out), Just Salad, China 23 and Boniellos. Gift cards to restaurants or Walmart, Target or BJ's for easy curbside pick up is always super helpful to order essentials. If you're not near one of these stores but would like to donate, there's a "Care Card" link below that allows me to use at many stores. Thank God for curbside pick up and delivery! Thanks again for ALL the love and support. The Wolf pack is feeling the love!
