Help Sean Receive a Lifesaving Heart Transplant

Miramar, FL

Story

My name is Sean Blyden, and I never imagined I’d be sharing this chapter of my life. But today, I need your help—and I want to share my story with you from the heart. It started when I was just 11 years old. I collapsed on the soccer field at school, struggling to breathe. Doctors discovered an irregular heartbeat and suspected a hole in my heart. After a year of treatment, they believed the issue had resolved—but that was only the beginning. For years, I lived a full life. I earned my MBA, started a career, married and raised two children. But my heart issues never fully went away. They would return quietly—an irregular beat here, a murmur there. I brushed them off until the symptoms became impossible to ignore: palpitations, chest pain, and fatigue. Eventually, I was diagnosed with a rare genetic heart disease: Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). It causes dangerous arrhythmias and can lead to sudden cardiac arrest. I had an implantable defibrillator (ICD) placed in my chest to help manage it—three times over the years. Heart disease runs in my family. I’ve lost relatives to it. My own son has the condition and needed an ICD in his early 20s. Still, I pressed forward—staying active, eating well, doing everything I could to stay healthy. In 2016, during my fitness journey, I knew something wasn’t right. I couldn’t catch my breath on the treadmill. My blood pressure skyrocketed to 277/177. My legs were swollen. That’s when I was diagnosed with heart failure. For the past several years, I’ve managed my condition with medication, monitoring and with the help of my wife, Antonice. But in late 2024, things took a sharp turn. I became increasingly fatigued, my stomach bloated, and I struggled to stay awake. By early 2025, my doctors confirmed that my heart had worsened—now affecting both sides. An attempt to upgrade my device failed. Then came the news I never expected to hear: I need a heart transplant to survive. That news was overwhelming—but I’m a man of deep faith. I prayed. I leaned on my wife, my children, and my village of family and friends. We believe in miracles—and now, we’re trusting that one will come. But the truth is, we can’t walk this road alone. A heart transplant involves enormous medical costs—pre-op care, surgery, post-op recovery, and life-long medications. That’s why I’m asking for your support. If my story moved you in any way, would you consider donating? Any amount will help lift this burden and bring me one step closer to healing, to more time with my family, and to the life I still have to live. Thank you for reading my story. Thank you for being part of my journey. With love, faith, and deep gratitude, Sean Blyden #HelpSeanHeal #HeartForSean #FaithHopeHealing
