Callie's Crusaders

Spokane Valley, WA

Story

“Why cancer, why?” These three little words coming from an 8 year olds mouth should never have to be spoken. Callie was first diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma when she was two and a half. Callie and her family battled and fought and triumphantly received the words, “cancer free” after a year long fight. Callie and all of her crusader’s cheered for her! A month after finishing second grade, 8 year old Callie received the devastating news that her cancer is back. She is diagnosed with recurrent Ewing’s Sarcoma. This is a cancer that is in her bones around her neck. When asked what she thought she said, “I’m like why cancer, why?” How do you answer that question? Callie is an energetic, fierce, dance-loving, creative, girl who has bravery beyond words. She comes from a family of two parents who are strong like no other. She has two younger sisters (6 and 1 1/2) who she loves like no other plus a baby brother or sister due in September. This battle is a fight that Callie is going to need her family and community to show up to pray, love, and support them. There are so many uncertainties right now. At this time, the family is focusing on living in the moment with their family and they should not have to worry about expenses. With all the medical care that is going to be happening, the Anderson’s aren’t going to be able to work much, if at all. For those that work in the Central Valley School District, you could help them by donating days so they can keep their insurance. Please give as you are able and know that your prayers and wishes are coveted at this time. ❤️ On behalf of the Anderson family, thank you for everything that you do to love on our little girl and family during in this challenging time.
