Sending Love for Momma Lisa D

Story

Lisa's life has been defined by unwavering strength and an extraordinary commitment to caring for others. Now, after decades of putting everyone else first, she needs our support. Lisa's medical journey began at just 5 years old with a diagnosis of a pituitary/hypothalamus hamartoma. From ages 9 to 11, she bravely underwent chemotherapy and hormone therapy. This early struggle seriously interfered with her bone development, an impact she continues to feel today, leading to significant joint issues and multiple surgeries, including a knee repair and a full hip replacement over the last decade. Despite these immense personal challenges, Lisa's heart remained focused on giving. She and her husband built a beautiful, blended family of eight children and opening their home and hearts to three others through adoption and fostering over the years. Earlier this year, Lisa faced a new, daunting diagnosis: Stage 2 Tubular Carcinoma in her right breast. Following a necessary lumpectomy that removed a large amount of breast tissue, Lisa's recovery is challenging. She is currently unable to work, and her husband has had to step away from his job to provide the care she needs. They still have children at home, including two who are on the autism spectrum and require consistent support. This family, who has given so much to their community through love and care, is now facing a significant emotional and financial strain. How Your Donation Helps Your donation is a lifeline. It will help ease the financial burden so Lisa can focus entirely on healing and recovery, and her husband can focus entirely on caring for their family. -Covering essential living expenses while both are out of work. -Managing ongoing medical co-pays and treatment costs. -Providing necessary care and resources for their children, especially those with special needs. Please consider making a donation today to help this incredible woman and her loving family navigate this difficult season. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Friends had some things to say about Lisa, "Like many of us, I first met Lisa at Anahata's Purpose. She struck me, at first, as a person who radiated a warm and welcoming light - and as I began to truly know her, I learned that the light on the outside was only a small inkling of the incredible light she holds within. She is a loving nurturer, a fierce friend and a powerful inspiration for good. She deserves all the love and support there is to be received. I love you, friend. YOU GOT THIS!" -Margo "I have known Lisa for 5 years and it feels like I have known her forever. She is one of the most caring and giving people I know. Lisa cares deeply for other people and then takes action to help. She is not one to just watch and feel bad. She will be there when you are in need. This is our chance to give back to her and make sure that she feels as loved as she is." -Diane "Lisa is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. Her heart overflows with love for everyone and her selflessness knows no bounds. She has one of those personalities and just gives off an aura of “let me take care of you”. I met Lisa at Anahata’s and she has been soul family ever since. She has had her struggles in the past with her health but boldly has cared for ELEVEN children as well as the kids who just come over and need help. I’ve never met someone with a heart so big. It’s time for her community to take care of her because she has a need. I know it’s so hard for her to acknowledge is being done because Lisa doesn’t want people to fuss over her. Lisa, we are here for you! You are a bad@$$ warrior and you WILL conquer this 💪🏻🩷 let us help you." -Allie
