Story
Hello Hart family, Most of you are aware that Susan has struggled with significant memory loss that continues to impact Susan and Skip's lives significantly. We are so grateful for our huge circle of support and the wonderful generosity you all offer. We thought since we are both physically not in Indianapolis, we would reach out to the Hallam/Hart support system and see if we could create some regular visitors for Skip and Susan. Meals are a great added bonus, but what we are really hoping for is some company for Susan so Skip can get a bit of a break. Some ideas that we know she enjoys are listed below, but feel free to be creative (and, also know she may express explicitly not wanting to do anything, but this is something that happens often...when she is doing something outside of her routine and without Skip, her initial reaction is generally a resounding negative; however, once she is off and moving, she enjoys it). Ideas: Go for a walk Go to a meal Get nails done Go for a boat ride Go for a bike ride Watch a sunset Pick flowers/arrange flowers Look at old pictures Listen to live music *It would be great if you could come in pairs as that seems to decrease the intimidation factor of seeing Susan (especially if it's been a while).
Special Notes
Susan cannot have shellfish, and please don't feel that a meal is a necessity. It is just a great excuse to come by and visit! We thought it would be helpful to suggest coming in pairs to help ease into getting comfortable around Susan as if you have not interacted with her for a while, it can be somewhat intimidating. We think things would go much more smoothly if you could text Skip ahead of time at 317-439-8660 just to remind him of the details of your visit a few days to a week ahead of time to keep everybody on the same page.
