On April 1st, our lovely Lauren will be undergoing another cardiac surgery. This time, her recovery will be longer as she undergoes a mitral valve repair, with the possibility of a valve replacement if a repair isn’t possible. Lauren’s recovery is expected to take 3–6 months, with the first four weeks being the most challenging—both physically and mentally. She will also need to remain in the hospital for about seven days following surgery. If you know Lauren like I do, you know she’s someone who does it all. However, this time, she recognizes that she’ll need to slow down and focus on healing. Dan and Lauren have graciously allowed me to start this page so that those of us who love and care about their family can come alongside them and offer support. Let’s help take some of the stress off their shoulders during this time. Dan will be managing everything at home, with some help from family—but we can lighten that load. When I spoke with him, he mentioned that support for a couple of weeks would be sufficient, but I would love for us to bless this amazing family for three weeks if we can. The great news is—you don’t have to know them personally to help. If you’re a friend of a friend, you can still make a difference by sending a gift card or ordering a meal for them. Thank you so much for your love, support, and generosity.
Please avoid seafood and zucchini when sending meals. Thank you! There will be a table on the porch for meal drop-offs to help support Lauren’s health as she recovers from her major surgery. For convenience, meals can be dropped off or delivered at 6:00 PM each day. Your kindness and support mean so much to their family.
