His life greatly impacted so many in his community, church, school, and extended family. At this time, in place of personal gifts, they are inviting friends and church family to give toward a project that reflects Micah’s love for nature, creativity, and play. Hillview — the property New Story Church purchased in 2024 — is being developed as a place where people can encounter God in creation, reflect, pray, and experience community. The Gates family envisions transforming Hillview’s open field into a space that combines beauty, playfulness, and places to meet with God. The project is estimated to cost $10,000 or more, covering the cost of boulders, transport, planting, and landscaping.
