Support Circle for Charley and Jennifer

Story

This page exists because I’m heading into shoulder surgery and a season of recovery that will slow life down more than I’m used to. The surgery itself is outpatient, but the recovery is real. For several weeks, my right arm will be out of commission, I won’t be able to drive, cook, lift, or do many of the everyday things I usually do without thinking. Independence is kind of my thing… so apparently this chapter includes a crash course in patience and accepting help (still working on that part 😅). Charlie will be carrying a lot during this time—work, home, pets, appointments, and taking care of me while I heal. He’s amazing, but even amazing people deserve backup. With medical costs and some time off work, we’re being extra mindful financially right now—so practical, in-kind support (meals, groceries, errands, gift cards, or even a little entertainment to get me through long “sit-still” days) truly makes a difference. This page isn’t about obligation at all. It’s simply a way for those who want to help to do so in ways that are practical and genuinely helpful. Prayers, notes, and encouragement are just as welcome—especially on the days when recovery feels long or I forget (again) that I’m not supposed to use that arm 🙃. If you’re here reading this, thank you. Truly. Your kindness—big or small—helps us focus on healing, gratitude, and getting through this season one day at a time 🤍

Special Notes

🐾 Meet Hazel & Mabel (Quality Control & Security Team) These are Hazel & Mabel, our two very sweet dogs who are about to be deeply confused by my surgery recovery. I won’t be able to manage or wrangle them when visitors arrive, which means they may enthusiastically assume: • you are here to see them • you brought snacks for them • and you would like a full sniff inspection upon entry 😄 Dog treats are not optional… they are diplomacy. Treats help Hazel & Mabel understand that everything is fine, you are a friend, and the household is still under control (mostly). Thank you for your patience, your sense of humor, and for loving our whole household—including the four-legged members who take their greeting duties very seriously 🐶🐶💕
