With permission from the family, we are here to share that a Goodrich Family is in need of our help. Anete is fighting cancer and enduring chemotherapy. She has two young children to care for while she cares for herself, one of which has high support needs as well. Please help rally around this family and show them our support! Anete needs help with daily tasks like laundry. Please consider gift cards for laundry at: https://www.happynest.com/gift-card (Please mark this in the care calendar below). For community members: The family also needs help with tasks like dishes, dinnertime, household tasks. If anyone is comfortable, she is willing to accept help from anyone who can donate their time. A message from Anete: ๐ซถI would like to express my deepest gratitude to Goodrich team for stepping up in this difficult time when I can't manage everything anymore on my own. My children Alex and Mila just started attending this school as we just moved here from Naperville this summer. We lived there for 2.5 years after moving here from Florida. I was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer Synovial Sarcoma (a rare soft tissue cancer) exactly 4 years ago (cancer at the time of diagnose had spread to my lungs from a hip). And a year ago the diagnose changed to terminal when the cancer spread to my blood vessels. The last few weeks have been a lot more challenging because of a sudden change in my health. I don't know how each day will look like. I live alone with my children. I am grateful I have been able to care for them at my best ability all this time. I have family in Europe. They were just taking turns to come and help with the children earlier this year. At this time I am alone with some help here and there from some friends we have here now. But the things lately have changed, and I need a lot more help to be able to navigate daily life for me and my children. What makes it challenging besides my health condition and recent changes (cancer growing while im undergoing this possibly last cycle of this chemotherapy, shortness of breath, fatigue), Is also that my son Alex is a special needs child who needs extra assistance with the daily tasks, and the fact that in our new home there is no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. Anything that requires physical activity is challenging for me often times. Even taking the children out of the house for any activities or fun events by myself has become impossible for me. Im reaching out to the community to anyone who would be willing to help any way that we have mentioned on this page - meals, gift cards, laundry, donating your time to spend with the children (playing with them, taking for a fun activity, museum, library or playground, walk outside, sledding hill etc) I'm typing this as I'm finishing up this chemotherapy Infusion today on November 11th. I will share more, and also would be happy to answer any questions at all anyone may have about anything related to my health or my family needs (if needed we can set up anonymous question option, or you can email me to [email protected]) I will say thank you very much for now. And also I would greatly appreciate any prayers and healing energy sent my way ๐๐ With Love and Gratitude, Anete
