Hey friends and family. I had to have a rather quickly-scheduled but serious knee meniscus root repair surgery on July 16th. I had no trauma to it—it started slowly and then suddenly got very painful and I was not able to walk more than a few feet at times. My MRI showed a completely detached meniscus at the root, which means that now I must be off my left leg, "non-load-bearing" entirely, for 6-8 weeks and be on crutches and a walker. My left leg, during those weeks, cannot have any weight on it at all. So many things are up in the air right now, and I don't know yet dates for when I will be asking people to start doing things like bringing in groceries and laundry, etc (for when I am by myself). But I do know that I would love to hear from you and have visitors right now. There will be more updates to the calendar as soon as I have some clarity on timeline.
As far as visiting and dietary restrictions, know that Gadget is here right now, but will be gone in a few weeks up north (he'll be living the north woods cabin life). And for dietary stuff, I can eat anything but avocado. No avocado oil, guacamole, nothing with avocado. I also don't like fish unless it's sushi, and then not in rolls because they usually have avocado. Thanks again!
