Merrick Family Love

W
Story

On February 17th, George Merrick left this earthly plane and passed to the other side. It was peaceful, he was at home and surrounded by family. Although he had been navigating some health challenges, his passing was unexpected and has left a very tender space in the hearts of those who love him. George was a devoted friend, artist, community elder, father, and grandfather. Thank you to everyone who has shown up in the last years and final months. Many friends and family have reached out asking how to help and in times like this, community is so important. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say or what to do, so I created this page as a way to help. Let's show support so they can rest and grieve. All sign-ups on the calendar are suggestions and are highly flexible and customizable. Just wanted to put a few ideas on there. It could be something different that same day; bringing groceries, helping run errands, phone call check-in, in person quality time. All support is welcome. If you’d like to send flowers, please reach out to me directly. Some information about dietary preferences is below, as well as inspiration for foods/meals pinned to the 'updates' section. Additionally, if there are days that you want to support that aren't listed on the calendar, that is fine, just contact me. For coordination, questions, or additional ways to support, you can reach me directly by phone (510) 485-1625 or email [email protected] OR send a contribution to my VENMO and I will turn it into groceries/meals @Rena-Blair Thank you for surrounding this family with such love & care. A celebration of life will be planned in the coming months. Your support means everything right now, Rena - family friend and end-of-life support companion to George - **if dropping something off at their homes is not convenient for you (they live outside of town), you are welcome to drop anything off at my house which is only five minutes from the Brunswick Basin.**
