I was absoutely gob-smacked by my diagnosis. I was feeling great and very active in Indivisible Marin, going to gym 5 times a week and adopting a corner to help the men who gather there looking for work. It was terrifying and we were overwhelmed. I'm in chemo and that takes a toll. I'm pretty useless now. My hero, Michael is my care giver and I picked the best partner in the whole world to be my support. I really got lucky. Susan Morgan, a wonderful friend, suggested setting this site up and I'm very grateful for a friendship and insite for doing this.
Cancer of the esophagus impedes your abilbity to swallow. I'm not able to tolereate anything spicy, tomatoes, or tomatoe sauce, onions, and most vegatables. I can do zucchini, peas, carrots and butternutsquash - cooked. I'm on a low to no salt diet as well. Chicken is the only meat and can't have skin. I can peel that off. Things that have been working are mashed potatoes, rice and pasta. Desserts, which I love, like a cobbler, or crisp are wonderful. Also, no raw fruits or vegatables
