Supporting The Hallex Family

McLean, VA

Story

As many of you know, Tom and Ashley's baby, Mason, is currently in the NICU. It's a challenging time for them, and we want to show our support by organizing a meal train. To help them be closer to Mason, the Howells have generously opened their "Little House", significantly shortening Tom and Ashley's commute to Fairfax INOVA. The Little House has a full fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate/pots/pans, and toaster oven. There is not a full sized oven so please keep that in mind. We've scheduled meals to be weekly, rather than daily, so if you're signing up, please aim to prepare enough food to last them a few days. Think convenient, easily reheated, or transportable meals that they can enjoy at home or take to the hospital. There is a cooler on the front porch for you to place your items. If cooking or driving to McLean isn't feasible for you, they would also genuinely appreciate the gift card option available on the meal train site. Just a heads-up on dietary requests: please no olives, cooked/dehydrated fruit, or raisins in any dishes. Fresh fruit is a-okay!

Special Notes

Drop off food at the Little House (you pull down the driveway and it's the house on the left). There will be a cooler outside you can place the food in.
