On November 11th, 2025, our mother, Shellean Roberts, suffered a severe brain bleed. She was rushed to St. Joseph’s in Glendale, where a CT scan revealed the severity of her condition. From there, she was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix for emergency care. Upon arrival, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for further testing. After an angiogram, doctors determined that the bleed was caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) — an abnormal connection between arteries and veins that bypasses the normal capillary system. They believe this condition was something she was born with. Surgery is officially scheduled for Monday, November 17th around 8 AM. We have had many team members come in to explain everything there is to know about the surgery. They have reassured us that our mom is the perfect candidate for this surgery. We have no doubt that it will be successful. Our mom, Shellean, is an extraordinary woman and mother to three daughters — Paige (23), Isabelle (21), and Kira (10). She has always been a source of strength and love for our family. As a dedicated teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, our mom has devoted her life to helping others, but the medical expenses from this tragic event will be overwhelming. We are humbly asking for support to help with groceries and meals. Also on this page, you may schedule time to visit with Shellean. While we would love to guarantee the time, it is subject to change.
