Giving to the Giemzas

Thomasville, GA

W
Story

Michael and Tracey-Sanford Giemza are a rock star couple with two beautiful grown girls. This family is as precious as it gets with big hearts and a zeal for life, with major focus on serving others and their community. (Tracey-Sanford has quite an impressive list of service accomplishments!) Now it's our turn as friends, family, co-workers, etc. to rally together and see how we can help them in their time of need! Keep reading... As many of you know, Tracey-Sanford was diagnosed with a very rare type of Carcinoid Cancer, stage 4, in the Fall of 2022. She and Mike have made numerous trips between their south Georgia home and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Atlanta since receiving the diagnosis. Early on in her journey, a Go Fund Me page was set up to help with the costs of travel and the medical bills. This was very helpful and was greatly appreciated by the family, but as you can imagine, the expenses keep coming. Tracey-Sanford is not one to complain, but as her friend, I cannot imagine the stress that comes with everything she has been through. She keeps on spreading her joy even in the hard times. And she is very honest and open during her journey. If you want to hear more from her perspective, follow along on Tracey-Sanford's Facebook group "blog" page, "Dying to Live: ICANcer." (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091621907082&mibextid=LQQJ4d) Now it is almost Fall of 2023, and there are more needs to be met. Mike will be receiving his first hip replacement at the end of September 2023... with a second hip replacement not too far behind. I knew I wanted to help out the family more than just monetarily, but also by scheduling meal trains when surgery time gets closer. Instead of using the original Meal Train platform, I came across this Give In Kind website. It grabbed my attention with the options to help out with more than scheduling meal deliveries. You can see more under the "Quick Links to Help" section of this page. So if you feel led to help out in any way, whether by delivering a meal post surgery, sending the family a gift card or adding to their Go Fund Me account (https://gofund.me/a9de50d4), anything you do will be received with genuine gratitude from the Giemzas. The BEST thing you can do over any of this is... P R A Y. Thank you all! - Laura B. (09/01/2023)

Special Notes

*** MEAL TRAIN INFORMATION *** Check the calendar below to see which days are available and the types of meals needed late September through mid October. Some of their favorite restaurants include Rancho Grande, Fratelli's Pizza, Hong Yip, Sonny's BBQ, Sweet Grass Dairy Cheese Shop and J.B. Crumbs in Thomasville. They of course appreciate a home-cooked meal as well! The Giemzas are big fans of Italian. (See allergy note below regarding tomatoes.) Most meals will be delivered to their Egg and Butter address. The family sometimes goes back and forth between their "plantation home" and their private "forever home." Before delivering a meal, please confirm the location with the family. *** ALLERGIES *** Lastly… please NO tomato-based sauces or chunks of tomatoes, NO apricots and NO grapefruits, as there are allergies in the family. Thank you!
