Keeping the lights on while navigating autonomic dysfunction

W
Story

If you know me, you know I work hard to stay independent, take care of my family, and keep moving forward. Especially after leaving domestic violence three years ago and winding up homeless with my kids. Nothing prepared you for that but everything in you wants to do everything possible to prevent that from ever being a possibility again. I work as a home health caregiver and supplement my income through independent food delivery. Both of my jobs rely entirely on my health and having safe, reliable transportation. Over the past few weeks, my family has been hit with a series of overwhelming medical and financial setbacks that have brought everything to a halt. First, my own health took a severe turn, resulting in hospital visits, continuous lab testing, and ongoing care under a rheumatologist to get my condition managed. At the same time, my 11-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with autonomic and autoimmune issues, requiring a constant cycle of specialist appointments and medical care. Between my time in and out of the hospital and navigating my daughter’s new diagnosis, I have been physically unable to work over the last couple of weeks. To make matters worse, while trying to manage these health crises, my car suffered severe tire damage from an exposed metal road hazard that slashed my tires. Because my vehicle is an All-Wheel Drive (AWD), replacing just one tire isn't an option—all four tires must have matching tread depth to prevent damaging the mechanical AWD system. Right now, I am stuck driving on a temporary spare, which severely limits where I can safely drive for doctor appointments, hospital visits, and essential daily needs. With no income over the past few weeks due to our medical emergencies, facing sudden tire repair costs on top of living expenses has put an immense strain on our household. While I am pursuing a formal reimbursement claim for the road hazard, that process will take time—time my family doesn't have while trying to get to critical medical appointments and return to work. What the Funds Will Cover: •Safe Replacement Tires: A set of matching tires (or viable matched used tires) so the AWD system functions safely for medical travel and work. •Mounting, Balancing & Installation Fees. Immediate Household & Medical Relief: •Helping cover essential household bills and basic necessities after missing two weeks of work due to hospitalizations and specialist visits. No amount is too small. Even $5 or $10 helps us cover a safe tire or basic household needs right now. If you aren't able to donate, sharing this link with your network would mean the absolute world to my daughter and me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your compassion, prayers, and support during this heavy time!

Special Notes

We would also very much so appreciate gift cards. Walmart, King Soopers, 7-eleven, Target are all stores close by that we can utilize. My daughter has been begging to go to Golden Corral and loves Popeyes and Taco Bell, McDonald's and Sonic. I know many prefer giftcards over cash. You can email digital gift cards to [email protected] I have have cash app @MadeNBiloxi is my handle on there.
