Hi friends and community, I’m sharing this with humility and gratitude. Many of you have asked how to help, and right now, one of the biggest supports is help with meals. I live with advanced kidney disease and congestive heart failure, both of which affect my energy, strength, and daily functioning. I also have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which causes dizziness, rapid heart rate, and frequent fatigue, making standing and cooking difficult. In addition, I have gastroparesis, a condition that affects how my stomach empties food, requiring careful, gentle meals and making eating itself a daily challenge. I am also legally blind, live with chronic pain, and have undergone foot amputations, which significantly limit my mobility. At this time, I am ambulatory with the use of a wheelchair, and many everyday tasks—especially meal planning, preparation, and cleanup—can be physically exhausting or impossible on difficult days. Recently i have been referred to Palliative care services and a few other organizations and am currently awaiting more support as my disease progresses. Despite doing my best to stay strong and independent, my health has reached a point where I truly need help from my community. Having prepared meals means I can conserve energy for medical appointments, healing, and caring for my family, while still being nourished safely. Your support—whether through a meal, a kind note, or simply keeping us in your thoughts—means more than words can express. This is not easy to ask for, but it is deeply appreciated. Every act of kindness helps lighten a very heavy load. Thank you for standing with me during this time. 🤍 With love and gratitude, Jill
At this time, there are no dietary restrictions for my family. I am currently receiving separately prepared meals through another program that meets my specific medical dietary needs, but I still need help ensuring my family is fed and supported during this season. Providing meals for them helps relieve a major daily burden and allows me to conserve energy for medical care, healing, and being present with my loved ones.
