In November we were shocked to find out that the "knot" in my wife's left thigh was actually an aggressively growing 8cm sarcoma. A rare, diverse group of cancers developing in connective tissues like bones, muscles, fat, nerves, and blood vessels. The first phase of treatment kicked off just before Thanksgiving and included a month of radiation treatment to attempt to shrink the margins of the tumor and prepare her for surgery. Heather completed radiation two days before Christmas and is now scheduled for surgery to (hopefully) remove what is left of the tumor on Friday, January 30th. This will be a major surgery and Heather will be in the hospital for 4-5 days and will likely be mostly immobile for a couple weeks, with a long recovery and rehab over the next couple of months. With all of this in mind, Heather wanted us to reach out to the community for help with meals. As a "fixer", I have resisted this request, but I also love my wife and recognize this will give her some peace of mind... even if we are able to "get by" without the help. So, we humbly request your consideration for a little help with prepared meals over the next couple of weeks to help us get through the surgery and the early part of Heather's recovery. Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
No major dietary restrictions, though one of our daughters does have a gluten sensitivity. As a family we are not gluten free, but we do try to do a couple of meals or options each week to ensure that Olivia has a variety of things that she can eat without digestive issues.
