Goodbye, Earl (Meal Train for Anna Marie Smith)

Kealakekua, HI

W
Story

As many of you know, Anna Marie is having surgery in a few weeks. She has a brain aneurysm, named Earl after the Chicks song. The surgery is to have a stent put in to, hopefully, say goodbye, Earl! Koa and her could use some support as she recovers. Whether you can cook a homemade dish, send a gift card for their favorite takeout spot, or send an encouraging card, every gesture makes a difference. Anna Marie and Koa are traveling to Oahu on October 1st and her surgery is on 2nd. They will be back in Kona on the 3rd. If you would like to provide a meal for Anna Marie and Koa, I have created a meal train and linked it below. They have asked for help with breakfast and dinner, but feel free to include lunch as well. If you would like to send her a card, her PO Box is PO Box 4273, Kailua Kona, HI 96745. If you have any questions or issues with the site feel free to text me at 770-296-7335. Please keep in mind I am in the Eastern time zone. Thanks in advance for being an amazing community! Julia VanderHart

Special Notes

Anna Marie has to be mindful to not have too much sodium, so please limit the amount of added salt and no shellfish (i.e. shrimp, crab, etc). She also can't have grapefruit or much other fresh fruit as they are natural blood thinners. She especially loves homemade mashed potatoes (the comfort food her dad would make her), coffee, and ice cream. Koa especially loves loco moco, burgers, curries, and sour candy. Their favorite delivery restaurants are Dominoes, Kayas, Gypsy Gelato, Standard Bakery, Chubbys, and Panda Express. Their favorite take out restaurants are Original Thai, Black Rock Pizza, and Pho Kim Anh. For breakfast, they enjoy bagels, pancakes, and hashbrowns. Anna Marie doesn't care for eggs.
