The past six months have been a period of profound transition for our family. After a long journey with diabetes, my mom has navigated a series of medical setbacks that ultimately resulted in a below-the-knee amputation. In the wake of this, my dad made the decision to retire early to become her full-time caregiver. While we are so grateful for their strength and their commitment to each other, this transition has brought unexpected challenges both medically and financially. Our current priority is ensuring Mom can navigate her home safely and comfortably. Unfortunately, her home is not currently equipped for her needs, and we are working hard to make it accessible.
Nutritional Support: Contributions here help us provide the fresh, high-quality, diabetic-friendly meals Mom needs to regain her strength. Accessibility Fund: These funds go directly toward the costs of materials for home modifications and safety tools that allow Mom to move around her home with dignity and ease. Meal Coordination: If you are local to El Paso and would like to help with meal prep or grocery runs for specific diabetic-friendly items, please let us know!
