Ovarian Cancer/ Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma

Story

In January, 2025 I was diagnosed with Stage lllb LGSC. Due to the severity of the malignant ascites and growth since the biopsy, I was told that I needed surgery as soon as possible, and follow up after with chemotherapy. I was already in no place financially to be able to afford this. But on February 27th, my surgery was scheduled. (Total hysterectomy, bilateral sapling-oophorectomy, peritoneal stripping and ablation, appendectomy and omentectomy). During this surgery they found an area that has spread to my ureter, an artery and bladder wall that was not safe to operate. 10 days post-op, I was rushed to the hospital due to septic shock. I was placed on life support and had emergency surgery due to an issue that caused intestinal gangrene and internal 5cm abscess. I had also contracted MRSA, which made the plans of chemotherapy no longer an option. Instead, I am basically planned for maintenance therapy for 5-10 years, with possibility of further surgery. Due to the unexpected diagnosis and rush to get surgery, almost everything was lost. This included my vehicle, home and a relationship. I had no emergency funds at the time. I’m doing what I can to get back on my feet , but it’s been incredibly hard. I’m struggling and I just want a moment of peace.. If I could even get 1 person to just share my page, it would mean so much.
