If you've ever felt like life waited until you finally had a plan before throwing a curveball, then you'll probably understand where I'm coming from. I'm a low-income woman who recently had my work hours cut. Just as I decided to take a big step toward a better future by going back to school, my paycheck decided it wanted to go back to school too... apparently it's studying how to disappear. The truth is, this hasn't been easy. Like so many people, I'm trying my best to improve my situation instead of giving up. Going back to school is my chance to build a more stable future, but right now I'm struggling to afford both everyday essentials and the supplies I need to succeed. Things most people don't think twice about—groceries, laundry detergent, shampoo, toilet paper, notebooks, pens, folders, and textbooks—have become difficult choices. Some days it's a matter of deciding what can wait until the next paycheck. Asking for help doesn't come naturally to me. I'd much rather be the person helping others. But I've learned that sometimes strength means allowing others to help when you genuinely need it. If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, you'll be helping me cover basic necessities while giving me the chance to stay focused on my education instead of worrying about how I'll afford the next meal or my school supplies. And if donating isn't possible, sharing this fundraiser is an incredible gift too. Every share, kind word, and bit of encouragement reminds me that I'm not facing this alone. Thank you for believing in someone who's simply trying to rewrite her story. I hope that one day I'll be in a position to pay this kindness forward many times over.
