Declan's Heart Journey

ROSWELL, GA

Story

Declan was born with a congenital heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot. At just 3 months old, he underwent open heart surgery in hopes of repairing the structural issues and giving him a strong start in life. While that initial surgery was a success in many ways, his small size at the time meant not everything could be fully corrected. Now, it's time for the next step. On June 12th, 2025, Declan will undergo a major follow-up heart surgery at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta to complete the repairs his heart needs. We’ve been overwhelmed (in the best way) by the outpouring of support and kindness from friends and family. Many of you have asked how you can help, and we’re incredibly grateful. We’re using this space not only to keep everyone updated on Declan’s progress but also to share ways you can support our family during this time. How You Can Help 1. Encouragement and Positive Notes A quick message, drawing, or card for Declan goes a long way. It lifts his (and everyone else's) spirits. 2. Keep Us in Your Thoughts We ask for your continued love, support, and prayers as Declan heads into this next phase. 3. Help With Meals, Snacks, and Caffeine Hospital days and post-surgery recovery will be long. Delivery gift cards (think like Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc. as well as places like Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A) go a long way in keeping us fueled and focused on Declan. 4. Help with the Other Kids and Dogs We may need occasional help with watching the other two kids and our furry friends, especially during longer hospital stays or follow-up appointments. 5. Share This Page If you know others who want to stay in the loop or support in some way, feel free to share this page with them. 6. Gift Cards for Declan’s Recovery Declan has a long recovery ahead, and his activity will be limited for quite a while. To help keep his spirits up and boredom at bay, he'd love gift cards from places like Target, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Nintendo for his Switch. These will help us keep him entertained and comforted with books, games, Legos, and other quiet activities while he heals.

Special Notes

While we’re so thankful for the love and support surrounding Declan, we kindly ask that visits to the hospital be limited. If you're wanting to come, please reach out ot us either on this platform or via text and we can work to coordinate visits. At this stage, keeping him safe from any potential illness is our top priority. No sick kids (or adults) will be allowed, and if there's any doubt about recent exposure or symptoms, please err on the side of caution and hold off on visiting. We appreciate your understanding as we focus on giving him the healthiest environment possible for recovery.
