One thing off their Plate! Love for the Strock Family

W
Story

❤️ RALLYING AROUND THE STROCK FAMILY ❤️ Sometimes life changes in an instant. Just days ago, Kacey and Chad Strock were living their normal, busy lives—working, raising their beautifully blended family of four children, caring for their two dogs, and handling all of the everyday chaos that comes with being a family. Chad had been experiencing some nausea, but nothing that seemed alarming. He was still working and going about his normal routine. Thankfully, Kacey encouraged him to have bloodwork done, just to make sure everything was okay. They never could have imagined what would come next. The bloodwork showed that Chad’s kidneys were failing. Kacey immediately told him he wasn’t going to work and took him straight to the emergency room. They walked into the hospital believing they were dealing with a kidney problem. Within hours, they learned Chad’s bloodwork indicated he was having a heart attack—even though he hadn’t felt like he was having one. Then came the diagnosis that would turn their entire world upside down: Cancer. After scans, MRIs, extensive bloodwork and a bone marrow biopsy, Chad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow. In a matter of days, their lives went from completely ordinary to hospital rooms, doctors, tests, treatments and an overwhelming amount of uncertainty. Early on August 11th, Chad was transferred to Penn, where his medical team is preparing to begin treatment. Through all of the fear and uncertainty, there is also HOPE. His doctors have shared that multiple myeloma is treatable and that tremendous advancements have been made in treatment. Chad has a fight ahead of him, but he will not be fighting it alone. Kacey has been by Chad’s side every single day, doing everything she can to be the strong wife and mother her family needs while navigating something no family ever expects to face. Right now, their family’s normal day-to-day expenses haven’t stopped just because their world has. Chad is unable to work while hospitalized. Kacey is traveling to and from the hospital and paying for parking at Penn every day so she can remain beside her husband. At home, they still have their children and two dogs who need to be cared for, along with all of the regular household expenses that continue regardless of what they’re facing. So now it’s our turn to take care of them. We want to surround the Strock family with the same love and support they have given so freely to others. Whether it’s helping cover parking, meals, gas, household expenses or simply easing some of the financial pressure created by Chad being unable to work, every contribution—no matter the amount—is one less thing this family has to worry about while their entire focus needs to be on Chad’s treatment and their children. If you aren’t in a position to contribute financially, sharing this post and keeping Chad, Kacey and their four children in your prayers means more than you know. Kacey has already expressed how incredibly grateful she is for the family, friends, coworkers, neighbors and community members who have stepped in—bringing meals, caring for their children and dogs, helping with work and school arrangements, making phone calls, offering resources, and simply being there when they need someone. But this journey is only beginning. There is a long road ahead, and we want to make sure this family never has to walk it alone. Let’s help carry some of the weight so Kacey can keep holding Chad’s hand. ❤️ Let’s cover the parking. Let’s help put dinner on the table. Let’s help take care of the kids and their home. Let’s give Chad the ability to focus on getting stronger. And let’s give Kacey the ability to stay exactly where she wants and needs to be—beside her husband. Every donation, every share, every meal, every message and every prayer matters. The Strock family has a fight ahead of them. Let’s show them just how many people are standing behind them. ❤️ #StrockStrong ❤️ Lord, we pray for healing for Chad, strength for Kacey, peace for their children, wisdom for his medical team, and brighter days ahead for their entire family. May they never forget that they are surrounded by love, covered in prayer, and never walking this road alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ❤️🙏
