Our friend Emily is having a serious back surgery, SI joint fusion and cleaning up spinal fragments. Surgery is scheduled for Oct. 12th. Emily will be kept in the hospital more than likely until Oct. 14th. The goal will be to come home as soon as possible to hopefully eliminate infection risks but she will need help. Jay will be with her on surgery day but already has his own surgery schedule booked out for months. When she arrives at home she will not be able to put any weight on her right leg for at least three weeks. After three weeks she will be able to walk with a walker with around 50% weight for an additional three weeks. Recovery is long, painful and grueling. Thankfully, success rate is over 90%. We are looking for Monday-Friday helpers, help with pets, boys, meals and all the things for the first three weeks.
Emily will not be able to drive for at least 6 weeks. Jay and the boys leave M-F at 7:00 am, the boys get off the school bus around 3:45. Jay arrives at home usually between 6 and 6:30 during the week.
