On Sunday, June 7, Heike and Bruce experienced the unimaginable when a devastating house fire destroyed their home on Tybee Island. While they are incredibly grateful to be safe, they lost most of their belongings and are now facing the difficult task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. Adding to the heartbreak, Heike & Bruce’s beloved dog, Walker aka “Turd”, became separated during the fire and remains the focus of ongoing search efforts on Little Tybee. The community has rallied together to help locate him, and we remain hopeful for a safe reunion. As Heike and Bruce navigate this difficult time, they need support with immediate necessities including clothing, shoes, toiletries, household essentials, meals, temporary lodging needs, and other day to day expenses that arise after such a significant loss.
