On Mother’s Day, the Gabrieles were going to the zoo when Agostino passed out and hit his head very hard on the concrete. This resulted in a traumatic brain injury that was severe. He is still currently recovering from the fractured skull and small amount of blood still left from brain bleeds. After an MRI, the most likely cause of this episode was a tumor on his brain stem. This tumor is inoperable by nature because of it’s location. In mid July, Agostino went through a very long surgery in order to obtain a biopsy of this tumor through surgery. He is now recovering from the trauma from surgery. We do not yet know if he will be doing chemo, radiation, or combination of both. Rachel has been Agostino’s caregiver during this time, resulting in the loss of her job and income. Capri has been staying with grandparents during most of this time and will be going back to Florida for 3rd grade this semester. This is a huge help, but also requires travel between the states during this time. This page was created because people would like to know the best ways to help. Anything is appreciated, but a few cards are listed as ways to help provide the family with food, medical and medication expenses, and travel.
