Karen had emergency surgery last Tuesday to repair a hole in her stomach caused by a failed prior surgery which contributed to an ulcer rupturing. Due to the hole, she became sepsis and had to have the hole patched and a full repair is in the near future. Her abdominal cavity had to be flushed several times to clean. She was in ICU for a couple days and now in acute care. She is healing well and will hopefully be home tomorrow but the drain tubes have to remain with her. Karen also had a total knee replacement a month ago! Cayden, her son (16) has been keeping the house together and the dogs home safe and traveling back and forth from the hospital visiting. They are asking for some help with meals while they get home and adjusted back.
