Ella's Hooked Together in Hope Blood Drive

Story

Ella, a lively and caring teenager, has been walking through a tough and on-going medical battle. Weekly blood transfusions and hospital visits have been a new and challenging part of her life. Ella began crocheting hats in order to fill time during her own life sustaining procedures and blood transfusions. She wanted to help the sick babies and kids she’d met with this small act of kindness. What it actually did was spread joy, comfort and hope in unexpected ways. It helped form new relationships, and gave Ella a restored hope and purpose; something her family and friends had been praying for continuously. Ella and her mom Kendra have met so many amazing kids and families in this journey, with conditions similar in ways to Ella’s, and many much worse off. One might think that being surrounded by such sad circumstances would lead to despair, but through sharing stories, faith, prayers and little crocheted hats, hope continues to blossom, and with it, inspiration! To continue on spreading hope as a community, let's provide something that these amazing children desperately need- blood! So on this date, February 17th, please join us by donating blood for Ella's Hooked Together in Hope Blood Drive.
