I’ve created this page to help my good friend Desha have less on her plate as a single mom while healing from her brain surgery. Having food in the house is one less thing to worry about. Desha will be getting brain surgery on December 9, 2025. It will be very helpful to have meals/ food for her & her family for at least the next month of her recovery. Here’s her story: July 9th, I got snatched straight from work to the ER like an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Blood pressure through the roof, vision blurry, body weak I thought I was about to meet Jesus, fr. Turns out, my brain was being a complete drama queen. It wouldn’t be me without a sprinkle of drama. They diagnosed me with pseudotumor cerebri (aka IIH), which basically means my body thinks I have a brain tumor when I really don’t. Since then, I’ve been a full-time patient: headaches 24/7, light and noise sensitivity, limbs going numb, and a daily pill regimen I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. They said there’s no cure, but I serve a God who specializes in no way situations. I remember being a kid riding in the car with my grandma singing “I don’t know how God’s gonna do it, I don’t know when, when hes gonna fix it…”and now I get it. Faith is real. Some days I cry, some days I laugh, some days I look a mess but I’m still standing. Thank you to everybody who’s prayed, called, pulled up, dropped off flowers, or sent love. Y’all are the real MVPs. I’m healing & hopeful.
Aim for healthy food options (low sodium/low sugar). She loves spicy & Mediterranean food. Her mother will be there to prepare food if you decide to just get groceries.
