Let’s all come together to support Julia and her family as she recovers from surgery. In June, Julia was diagnosed with GE junction cancer (esophageal adenocarcinoma). She has gone through 4 rounds of chemotherapy and is undergoing surgery on October 12. She feels great and confident in her medical team and treatment plan but needs everyone's support as she completes her treatment and takes time to heal. Julia will be hospitalized for 8-9 days and then continue recovery at home. Julia and her family's needs include child care for their 4 year old daughter Mariella as well as meals, transportation, and help around the house. There are many ways to help both in person and remotely. Julia will be unable to work for a period of time, so financial support via Venmo or Zelle (listed below) would be a great help. Funds would go towards babysitting services, house cleaning, groceries and general living expenses. The calendar on this site will feature requests for in person help- drives to doctor appointments, meals on specific days, child care coverage, etc. Please check in frequently and sign up to pitch in when you can. We all know what a fighter Julia is and how much she cares for everyone in her life. She has an immensely positive spirit and a fierce determination that will serve her well in her recovery.
