Vincent was born with Microcephaly and Cerebral Palsy. Although his birth hospital stay was short, unfortunately it was not long after that he began experiencing seizures and has had on and off hospital stays at Boys Town for the past few months. Insurance technicalities have kept Dustin & Karli at Boys Town longer than desired and throughout this journey Boys Town has been less than successful at controlling Vincent’s seizures. This last visit with Boys Town was his sixth week long stay since he was three weeks old and during this time he unfortunately suffered as many as 100+ seizures a day while various medications were administered and parents thought they were relying on the experts. To make a long story short, Dustin & Karli were finally able to get Vincent discharged and admitted to Children’s where he is currently in the pediatric ICU. They are still awaiting answers and have been informed that Vincent will never be seizure free, but are in the process of finding ways and medications to control his seizures to provide him and his family with a better quality of life. All of this has occurred over the holidays while Dustin & Karli are still managing to hold down full time jobs and parent two other boys.
