Love for Laurie

Stillwater, MN

Story

Laurie has landed at The Estates at Linden. She is in good cheer but needs our ongoing love and support. This page can help us plan our visits. Maybe 2 per day might be good?? Her PT schedule is yet TBD. We all need to work around that and step out of the room when they come in. Her meals are at 12 noon and at 5 pm. She gets taken to the dining room for those. She is craving "comfort food" right now. If a few people could bring a meal during the week and have it with her on the patio that would be lovely. (She mentioned pasta with butter and chicken and fresh herbs! She also said hot dish with hamburger and potatoes!) This is to help her transition and get stronger and return home. This is our opportunity to show up and be present for her (and Jeff) as she regains strength. If you cannot visit - cards are great. For those local Marine people, let's reach out to Jeff and provide a few meals as well.

I visited with Laurie this week, and she shared a few specific food items she misses and would love to enjoy. I thought I'd share them here: Protein - she feels like she isn't getting enough of it. Salmon - any version. Beef - any variety. Grilled food. Stir fry. Plate of raw veggies with ranch dip. Hot hamburger (she enjoys onions - raw or fried - cucumber, lettuce, tomato).

Laurie would like to ask for visits that are about an hour…. she can get tired from all the PT, OT, visits etc. I brought & shared a burger & salad from Matchstick which she loved!

Laurie was in good spirits today. Out of her room playing a dice game in the dining area. I brought her comfort food for lunch. She appreciates all of our visits and support!
