Lilith May Cornelisse was born August 21st weighing 4 lbs 3oz. She was born 5 weeks early and had a condition called Gastroscisis. Essentially that means that her intestines were formed outside her body. She has been in the NICU since the day she was born and so far has had 3 surgeries. The last one was due to a blockage that was preventing her from keeping food down, resulting in a loss of weight. They also found a hole in her bowel while doing that last surgery. A couple days later she developed a staff infection. Its a one step forward two steps back type of situation. Her young parents are struggling financially due to driving back and forth from Hart to Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. The father was let go from is well paying full time job due to the weekly or sometimes twice a week trips to Grand Rapids for his fiancés doctors appointments, before Lilith was born. Thankfully he was given a part time job by some awesome people but it's just not paying all the bills and all the gas they use to make several trips to Grand Rapids every week.
