Breast Cancer Support for Allie Howard

Pendleton, SC

Story

As most of you know by now, in June 2025, Allie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She will soon undergo a mastectomy, followed by a long period of recovery and treatments. Allie is the kind of person who never wants to burden others—and would never ask for help herself. So as her sister, I’m asking on her behalf. Trying to recover from surgery, undergo intense treatment, care for herself, raise her three young children, and run a household all at once is incredibly difficult. Over the next several months, her family could truly use the support of their friends, church, and community. The most immediate and ongoing need is meals for the family, ideally home-cooked, as they’ve already had to rely a lot on restaurant delivery and takeout. Allie would be so grateful for nourishing, home-prepared meals (and/or snacks!) as a tangible expression of care. Her son has several food allergies—gluten/wheat, dairy, eggs, and raspberries—so allergy-friendly meals are especially appreciated. That said, truly any meal or gesture of support is meaningful and appreciated. We’re aiming to provide meals three times a week (Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays) for the next few months. See the Care Calendar below to sign up. Cancer is not only taxing on the body, but is also incredibly expensive to treat. In addition to meals, there are other ways to help—prayer, gift cards, running errands, light cleaning, Venmo/GoFundMe donations, sending Bible verses, or just checking in with a kind word. However you’re able to give, it makes a difference. Thank you SO MUCH for loving and supporting Allie and her family through this challenging season.
